I have yet to meet an entrepreneur that loved to write their business plan, let alone keep it updated over time as their business inevitably changed and morphed. That said, I think something is always better than nothing in terms of having a plan.
There have been countless posts written all over the web-o-sphere about business plans, and if writing one is worth the trouble. I won’t bother with that here, other than saying you need to have something. An outline, some bullet points, a concept summary, whatever. It doesn’t have to be a made-for-tv move type of deal with 400 pages of drivel on how your hot cross buns are gonna be the best buns in town. But it needs to exist. If only, so that when your happy hour buddies ask you what you’ve been up to, you’ll have more to show them than the hi score on the Pac-man machine.
